Founding Mamas
Mari Gisele Craddock
Hey there, I’m Mari Gisele.
Mama, Daughter, Wife, Musician, Yoga Instructor, Equestrian, the list goes on…known here as co-founder of Freya Fair.
Music has always been a part of my life/the household. I began with choir practices at my Oma’s church, onto piano lessons, alto saxophone in middle school and guitar from there.
The first song I wrote and performed live was called ‘Mechanical Heart’ when I was 15. I sang ‘Under my Bed’ by Meiko with my blue electric guitar at my high-school talent show. and then I recorded an EP album when I was 16 (have fun searching, I’m not linking that here).
Writing and performing have been a solid form of creative outlet and some passive income for me going on 15 years now. When I had kids, 8 + 10 years ago, music moved to the back burner. I am very much looking forward to getting into the recording studio this year!
I am beyond excited, and quite honestly humbled at the magnitude this festival is taking on. The community efforts involved have astounded me as we have been surrounded by the best volunteer staff team.
In 2010 my mom took me to Lilith Fair in Portland, OR where we saw Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, and I got a picture with my indie music-crush Alison Sudol from A Fine Frenzy. It’s an experience I will never forget.
Stoked to create a space for the wild, the wonderful and celebrate women’s voices!
Mckenzie Lindsey
I'm McKenzie Lindsey, co-founder of Freya Fair, a music festival dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and LGBTQ+ artists. As a full-time musician with the band Calico Bones, I've experienced firsthand the power of music to connect and inspire.
Growing up in the mystical Wallowa Mountains of the Pacific Northwest deeply shaped my artistic vision. This incredible environment has inspired the music my sister and I create with a raw, authentic energy that reflects the spirit of this region.
Freya Fair, nestled just over the Washington-Oregon border at the beautiful Dragon's Gate Brewing, mirrors my own journey. Walla Walla has been my home for 13 years, but Oregon also holds a special place in my heart.
Driven by a strong belief in the importance of human connection and self-expression, I co-founded Freya Fair to create a space where diverse voices can be heard and celebrated. Through music, Freya Fair aims to foster deeper understanding, empathy, and a sense of community among all attendees.
I'm passionate about music and committed to creating a more inclusive world.
